At Old Navy, you can return the products purchased from them within 45 days of purchase. This rule applies to the Items purchased from Old Navy website as well as in-store purchases. While returning an in-store purchase, you have to present the store receipt, and on returning an online purchase you may provide a shipping invoice as a purchase receipt.

Although the return policy of the three stores is similar, still you should consider the following point while returning the item; Items purchased from Old Navy can only be Returned to Old Navy stores. The case for items purchased from Gap or Banana Republic is the same.

Special Consideration & Exceptions
There are certain exceptions in the Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy return policy for returning your items. The following exceptions are to be considered while returning the merchandise:
- Swimwear must have its original price tags and the hygienic liner intact for your returns to be accepted.
- Sunglasses must be returned with the tags attached along with the original purchase receipt and complimentary case.
- Items purchased online marked as “Mail only” cannot be returned in-store for any of the stores (Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic).

Non-returnable Items

Return without Receipt

Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic accept returns without a receipt if you have made payment using your credit card or debit card. On providing the payment method (i.e. debit or credit card), the customer service department will look up your receipt in their database, if the receipt is found then the refund will be credited in the same form of payment.
In case if you could not provide the original purchase receipt or if it could not be looked up, then you will get the refund in form of store credit at the current selling value of that product.

Return by Mail
Follow these instructions in chronological order to smoothly return your merchandise via mail:
- Print the Prepaid Return Mailing label of UPS or USPS from this Page.
- Select a return type (i.e. “STANDARD” to receive the refund in the original form of payment and “GIFT” to receive the refund in the Gift Card)
- Specify the genuine reason for your returns.
- Pack the item (in its original packaging if possible) along with the return invoice.
- Affix the shipping label to the package.
- Mail it through your nearest UPS or USPS postal service which you selected while printing the return label.

It is very easy to return the product at the Old Navy store as the process is straightforward. All you need to do is go through the following steps:

- Take your item along with the Shipping Invoice.
- Your returns would be processed at the CSD and you will be immediately provided the refund in your original form of payment.
Method to exchange
In order to exchange the item by mail, firstly you need to return it. The process of returning an item for exchange is the same as discussed above. It is also advised to check the replacement item before returning it for an exchange.
To exchange your item at the store all you need to do is visit the store along with the item and return it fast. Then purchase the item with which you want to exchange it. The price difference would be refunded or charged depending upon the value of the item which you purchased.
Return or Exchange Gifts
Did you receive the article of a different size or the color didn’t suit you? You can return a Gift in the same way as you return other Items. The only additional step which you have to do is generate a Gift Invoice and then follow the steps mentioned in the section “Return By Mail“.
You can follow the same steps to exchange the Gift. However, it is advisable to check and order the replacement product before you return it.
To return or exchange the Gift in the store is very easy, simply visit the store with the Gift along with its Invoice (or Gift receipt). Once you reach the CSD, they will assist you with the exchange or refund as per your requirement.
Refund Process
You will get the refund for your returns in the original form of payment at Old Navy (including Gap & Banana Republic) on returning the products within the time frame along with the receipt.
On returning the product by mail it will take 3 to 5 business days to refund you the amount after receiving the product.
If you return the products to the store then you will immediately get the refund. Still, it may take up to 10 business days for the amount to be visible in your account.
Gap Return Policy
The time frame for returning the item at Gap is the same as discussed (i.e. 45 days), although there are a few variations. It should be kept in mind that Items purchased from Gap stores or Gap.com can only be returned to Gap and not to Old Navy or Banana Republic. Banana Republic Return Policy
Products purchased from Banana Republic store or online can only be returned to them and not to Old Navy or Gap. Though they belong to the same parent company (Gap Inc.), still their returns are managed in a different manner. Furthermore, you have 45 days within the date of purchase to return your product to the Banana Republic.
